Which condition must be met for a goal to be valid?

For a goal to be considered valid in soccer, the condition that states the ball must be fully over the goal line and not offside is crucial. This means that when the ball crosses the goal line, it must completely enter the goal area between the goalposts and beneath the crossbar. If any part of the ball is still touching the goal line, then it is not considered a goal.

Additionally, the player who scores must be in an onside position at the moment the ball is played to them. If they are in an offside position, even if the ball has completely crossed the line, the goal is disallowed. Thus, both components of condition B are necessary for a goal to be valid: the ball must fully cross the line, and the player's position must not be offside.
